Paralives is an indie life simulation game developed by the small Montreal-based studio Paralives Studio, founded in 2019 by Alex Massé. Built on Unity 6, it launched in Steam Early Access on May 25, 2026, after years of community-funded development through Patreon.
The game's tagline — "Building homes, lives and bonds" — captures its three pillars: a powerful Build Mode with curved walls and a free color wheel, a deep character creator called the Paramaker, and a detailed Live Mode where your Parafolk develop skills, careers, relationships, and families across 8 distinct life stages.
What helps Paralives stand out next to games like The Sims 4 and inZOI is no paid DLC — ever. Future updates including pets, seasons, vehicles, and more are planned as free updates. For players who want one purchase instead of many add-ons, that policy is a big deal.
The game takes place in a cozy open-world town called Melino, with 50–70 lots across neighborhoods including Oldtown, an industrial district, and forest and mountain areas. You can move around the town without loading screens — walk from your home to the coffee shop to the park without interruption.

💻 Platforms, price & release date
